Since the wife unit does not want me to have any forced induction on this cobra...thought about doing this...

M6009a46na rotating assembly and
m6049gt,m6099gt for heads

Just to make it easy and virtually no down time
thought this could be put together and go in relatively easy

any thoughts?

ps the reason the wife unit wishes me to stay na is the former svo mustangs I had were constantly being upgraded/changed with regards to the turbo...therefore the wife says to keep this on na and purchase a new one with warranty that is blown...no mention of how long the warranty had to be though so there are interesting options. Since we started anew business I will be down on cash for a little while but still want to make the daily driver 01cobra a little better.

You might want to check out Socal's setup when he's done. Might help you decide what direction to go.

Personally I still like forced induction for 4.6's -

If a 2.3 turbo with 21 psi boost will make 300hp, a 4.6 with 21 psi boost should make 600hp, but they'll BOTH be broken MOST OF THE TIME! :)

The roataing assembly will work for ya.

However, the GT heads will bolt on but you will need a different intake and custom headers made. The GT500 uses the same heads as the GT so you could get a set of headers for a GT500 and have them modified to fit. Not sure how hard that would be though.

The 4.6 and 5.4 ports do not line up and that's why you would need the custom stuff. Seems like a pretty big pain to me.

I would go with stock 01 heads that are ported and polished, install the FR500 cam kit (valve job will need to be done for the oversized valves in the kit) and port the stock intake. Both 01 and 03/04 heads will flow about the same if the porting is good.

You can buy the stuff in advance have the work done and just swap them out when your ready. Little down time and you can sell the stock stuff to recoup some of the money. I'm in the process of doing the exact same thing you are thinking about.

I'm sure you hang out over at SVTP. Check out Nazman over there. He has a 99 (I think) and hit over 400 rwhp staying N/A. I've been following his builds for quite sometime. He'll be the one p/p my heads when I get the coin. staying N/A is not cheap.

After all is said and done I'll be in the 380 hp range and you would be around the same. It will still be a nice easy driving car and wohoo at WOT.

Hope this helps
Don
