I was at DTP this past weekend where the mustangs were having a Dyno Day. To begin with there were about 10-15 mustangs getting dynoed. When I got there around 10ish, there was one black stang that broke the 600+rwhp. Needless to say he was charged. There were 2 others that were charged and most of the others were stockers. One of the charged stangs was running with 16lbs boost, when Brent went to dyno it, it overheated really bad. The other charged stang was one that Frank & Brent had built about 5 years ago, he didn't dyno. An officer brought out a GT Shelby 350, I wan't impressed to say the least. I was expecting a much higher rwhp than was shown on the dyno. It dynoed at 280rwhp. Mind you it was bone stock. None of the stockers broke the 300 mark. while I was there and I left around 2.

That's about right. 2v 4.6 GT's (99-04) take quite a bit of work to get to 300. The 4v 4.6 are much better. I'm at 310 with not all the bolt on's.

The Shelby 350 GT-H has an added exhaust and CAI and are rated at 325 crank hp. So, 280 rwhp is about right. I dynoed 285 rwhp with that and X-pipe. A tune is really needed in the 3v Stangs, they come with a crappy tune from the factory.

You know the old saying no replacement for displacement.

You could just drop an LS6 in there... :)

I was really surpised by the low outputs of most of the stangs. I was expecting higher numbers. Do you think the Camaros are the same way?

SOme yes. But it is cheaper and easyer to MOD GM produts so I would say you would see higher numbers from camaros.
