Just wanting to get some of you guy's opinion...is nitrous cheating? i've been talking to a few guys around work and base and just general friends and they're totally against it, cheater, you need nitrous to beat me, you know, the general stuff, so just a little poll of sorts, is nitrous cheating?

put it this way, i have a little girl and i spend all my money on her, so modding my car is 2nd, if i can spend $500 bucks for a 150 hp wet kit, or $2,500 on a heads and cam that won't equal 150 extra hp, nitrous all the way, now don't get me wrong i'd rather have a H/C set up but i don't have that kind of cash

I would say it is cheating only if it is hidden...

my bottle is going on top of the back seat while it's folded down...so no, not hidden what so ever, anyone familiar with the nitrous law in va?

Cheating? Well, honestly that's an excuse people use when they lose. We all know a domestic V8 will whomp on most import 4 bangers unless THEY are spraying, so if we spray is that "cheating"? I honestly think a win is a win is a win, how you get there is not important.

How is using nitrous cheating? If anything, nitrous is the most fair mod around...Nitrous is equally avaliable to everyone and every car can be equipped with it.

Nitrous is only cheating if you say you don't spray and then spray it! If you run what you brung it's all good!

Don't have the bottle hooked to the line and you are fine, however you may get some crap about not having a HAZMAT Placard displayed on your car cause you have it. Hiding the bottle is good for avoiding that. By hiding the setup means hiding the lines under the hood.

BTW, who cares is if its cheating. It's available for everyone to buy, so whatever.

I agree! And I don't know anyone who will tell someone what they have before they race. That is part of racing.

remember when meet ups didn't have open hoods for that specific purpose? never knew what the other guy had. i understand trailer queens that want to show off, but real racers keep their stuff under wraps......

I'm actually spending money on AFR heads and porting but I'm also going to spray the car. Honestly I want the car to run like its being sprayed when its NOT being sprayed. Likely I'd never need to spray but just let everyone THINK I'm spraying most of the time. :)

watch pinks.......that's racin...the way it used to be, minus looking under the hood and inspection and what not. used to be like ya was walkin around jenro's......no hoods up....just cars and talk and bs and girls....then the smack down would come.....run em.....and winner takes all..no excuses
