when replacing fuel pump on f-body, save a few hours of really unnecassary wrench turning and just cut a small hole out of the hump over your fuel tank, after laying on my back 12 hours today, i realized that without removing most of my rear end and my exhaust, the tank wasn't coming out, even with all that out, it still wouldn't be simple, so just to save you a lot of time, anger, and frustration, just cut a small access hole over the center of your car, remove the pump and re-install, it would have saved me about ten hours today, but on the up and up, i did get a holley pump, from virginia speed, good guys, and boy did it pep up the ride, it runs like a champ....so after cutting the hole in and bolting all the stuff back up, it would have been about a three hour job...

I already knew this. However since my rear end was already out at the time, we replaced it the "normal" way.

just out of curiosity what did you use to cut the hole?? and the hole might not be a good idea for a novice to try... you know cause sparks and gasoline and poking a hole in their tank or cutting a line... LOL

ah, well you drop the tank by removing the tank straps and the it drops it enough to give a inch or two, then i took a grinder and grinded a small hole in the hump, then i took a pair of snips and basically cut it open, took a while, but it worked....i wouldn't never wish changing a fuel pump on the fbody on anyone..
