Ok so friday night rolls around and its "ok" out(overcast, looks like rain later) but we(gto,cobra,lighting,evo,ME) all head for the track. I went right after school and put my E/Ts on(see were this is going) and im down there just talking to people and just having fun. I was in my car about to just put a safe fun run down(first time with allll that work complete) and the heaven OPEN...Well that was it for me running for the night. Were all on a convoy home..lol..and I see this guy in a celica in and out of traffic. To make sure this makes sense..it hadnt rained this far up yet...still dry. So I pull out and take it to like 130(he was like 3 miles away) and I get next to him as we get off the interstate, he reves I just laughed and said "go on green ill wait for the lights to cycle and ill get you" he goes "na man you must not know what I got under here"...So the light goes(I go on yellow) and buy 2nd im passing him. Next light he wants it heads up(WHY!!) so I give it to him and what do I hear? BANG!!RATTLE!! my rear end just goes byebye. Got it home and it looks like the spider gear went. But it was fun.

What class mercedes...is it a AMG rear? And I was looking to build out my rear end. I am making a fair amount of power(no dyno runs) and im not going to put what I had in there before just to WAIST $2,000 when its just going to fail again. I will look into the benz rear(im done school friday).

Yes the tranny is out of a C230 AMG I believe.

Are you fixed yet? Sounds like you broke the half shafts.... well you can still get a replacement or buy the upgraded ones...which will cost a pretty penny. Come to think about it I thought you had the upgraded shafts ?

I have 650hp half shafts. They were GSM and I think I had a flaw in them because Im nowere CLOSE to 650. It was the drivers side that broke. I got another one locally cheap. I PLAN on buying PPP's new 1000hp half shafts in the next 1-2 months but $2300 is hard to come by. I just put $1000 down for a senior week house. But yes shes back.

If you don't want to worry too much about breaking ... specially if you are past the stage of basic modifications..... more power and torque going to one wheel over the other...
