Pacesetter headers: 300.00
Flowmaster 80 cat back 3inch: 300.00
3inch catco cat and 3inch S pipe: 100.00
used Mustang Compucar wet kit: 300.00
Air lid: 50-100.00
Thats what I had. You can do it cheaper by getting a electric cutout and make more power too.
on a 125 shot I made 313rwhp and 433rwtq... On a 75 shot my car went 14.1@102mph..

$1100 is not bad for those numbers!N0S1
Back in the day I ran high 13's with an SVO Mustang (2.3 turbo) with only a 3" downpipe, 20 psi boost and a 75 shot. I bought the car for $750 (it wasn't running when I bought it).

I didnt have to buy a catback or a lid cause my car came with it when I bought it.. The only thing I bought were the Headers which back then cost 500.00 and the rest of the exhaust. I picked up a compucar wet kit off my roomates 01 mustang GT for 300.00.. I installed the nitrous in 2003 with 15,000 miles on my motor and put 65 bottles of nitrous through 2005 and 88,000 miles before I broke a piston.. I had a built motor waiting to drop in so one night in Feb of 2005 I went out and started my car and didnt wait to let it warm up.. Got on Diamond springs and rolled up next to a regular C5 and Ran him 2 times on the road.. After I let off the throttle I heard a nocking coming from my motor and sure enough I broke a piston.. still drove it for 6,000 miles before replacing the motor..

Yes it is more realistic to buy a LS1 and Tranny for your car but thats going to cost at least 4,000 dollars.. When I started modding my car it was 2002 and it was more like 10,000 for a LS1 swap.. Yes I probably spent over 2200 in Notrous fills but it was well worth it.. My car could hang with alot of cars out there and I could surprise alot of people.. It cost me about 5,000 to have my motor built but it was worth every cent.. I miss that car every day.. The only reason I got rid of it was because I Kept breaking Trannies and Rear ends.. I should have built it from the back forward.. I went through 4 rears and 2 trannies in that car.. 3 rears and both trannies after the built motor.. We installed the motor in Feb 2005 and I traded the car in on my WS6 in Oct 2005.. In those 8 months my car was down 5 times for at least 5 months.. I got sick of driving my Cavy and just looking at my car out my apartment window in the parking lot.. But I dont regret none of it.. I wish I still had the videos of the car on the dyno, at the track and sitting there and idleing at Street Motorsports..

complete drivetrains are down to around $1500-3000, and entire cars are $6-9k depending on rarity and mods. LS2's drivetrains are down to $6k

Dont forget about exhaust , Center console, gauges, I think the fuel pump is different and I think thats it.. And the way Gas prices are, Running 87 octane over 93 and getting 24mpg around the city and 30+ on the highway is alot better in my eyes.. I really only drive my T/A once a week due to gas prices.. I would rather get 25mpg in my daytona then 15-20 mpg in my WS6 around the city.. Also I was 19 when I bought my car and the insurance on my V6 firebird was over 200.00 a month.. On a 1998 Trans am it would have been over 350 a month..
I am not saying a 3.8 is better then a 5.6 or vice vrs all I am saying is if you want the same perfomance as stock LS1 F-body but want good gas miles off the highway, run 87 octane 90percent of the time, and have Cheaper insurance then This is a option.. I wanted a 98+ firebird.. I loved the way they looked.. I didnt really care if it was a V6 or V8 because I am a F-body enthusiest..

The only problem im having is my car is a DD right now. The odometer reads almost 105,000 miles. So My question is besides the basic modds, what can i do to beat these ricers? I mean i wish i had the y87 package on the car but i have the GU6, which isnt that bad. Well i already bought the pacesetter headers, exhaust, S pipe, & whisper lid. I just have to p/u them from my dads house in SC. So i wont be getting that until late june unfortunally. I was looking into superchargers but i dont think that is good for my motor. But at 17(with a good driving record) im only paying like $115 a month for full coverage. Will try to get pics up in a day or 2.
You might check with Smoke Panther on that. His car is a V6 and runs high 13 sec 1/4's. Pretty fast for a six. Headers, cam, cutout and some other mods.

My Old 98 with the built motor, heads cam intake put down 228rwhp and 228rwtq untuned.. That was with a 210in, 220ex, 534inlift, 547exlift, 113ls, and stage 1 ssms heads and intakes.. I still got 28mpg on the highway and 24ish around the city with 4.10's also.. Now they have bigger and better cams, and way better heads.. I have sceen Head and cam V6 cars now making 260-275rwhp..
As far as supercharging your car, It will handle it as long as you have the supporting mods and a good solid tune on it.. The stock 3.8 bottom ends are pretty strong from the factory.. My advice to you is if you want to go power adder then go either Turbo or Nitrous..

but is that risky for those kind of miles cuz i have A4 bird that is currently DD, and i need some what reliablitity until june. next question. does hptuners really help im mean does it have any main disadvantages to it. like transmissions rebuilds or anything like that over the next 2 years or so

As long as you have done the basic maintance and taken care of your car then you shouldnt have a problem.. Just remember that you can find a used motor for your car for as cheap as 100.00 that you can build up..
I would replace the Fuel pump with a Walbro 255lbhr pump just to be safe with fuel..
Hp tuners is the best tuning software out there.. You can basically tune everything in your car.. The 2 downfalls is that it is exspensive, and you need to have a Laptop or PC in your car to run the software..

Whoa I must be speed reading a bit tooooo fast. You all's V6's are running high 13's and putting out over 350RWHP ? Shoot your talking LX R/T Hemi speeds now..... chit glad I have enough ponies to keep ahead of you all at the staging light. Going have to pay attention instead of snoozing when the car pulls up next lane and its a V6
You wouldn't have to worry about paying attention, you can here Smoke Panthers exhaust from a mile away :) (exhaust cutout)

jeff. what would that fuel pump run me? And does anyone know anybody in richmond that can hook me up with hptuners. How much memory does the software take(just use sis laptop)?

The Fuel pump is around 110 brand new from summit.. As far as the HPtuner ask on CamaroV6 or LS1tech.. PM Magnus on LS1tech for specific questions..

I have HPTuners on my laptop. It doesn't take up much space, but what you really need is the cable going from the car's computer to the laptop

oh ok. I had someine on camarov6.com offer to do hptuners for $250.

i believe the laptop has to remain in the car while the car is running, so your sis would be giving up her laptop...? might be mistaken though.

The laptop has to be in if you want to change tunes during your drive. HPTuners is a flash by technology, you can run a great fuel economy flash, then change it to a fuel sucking setup at a stop light. At least this is how its done with a 96 Caprice and a LT1.
