Pulled the passenger side valve cover today. Much easier than the last attempt. Only took about an hour doing it by myself.
1. Remove intake tubing
2. Remove shaker scoop and mounting bracket
3. Remove throttle body
4. Disconnect heater core hoses (2) it will leak about 1 quart of coolant
5. Disconnect and move passenger side fuel rail out of the way (Bleed fuel
pressure via shrader valve. Put a rag underneath)
6. Remove 8 bolts from valve covers.
7. Gently as you can remove valve cover.

was this part of today's repair list? does it come with a daily to do list or do you have to pay extra for the list?

Got the driver side cover pulled today. May have found the problem I think?
What we found: The long chain has some worn spots on the outside of the chain. The shorter has a little slack in it. Not nearly enough to skip a tooth but looks as though it has stretched some. The cams have some blueing near the chain.
Possible cause, an oiling problem at some point in the front and things got hot. Chains stretched and the end result.
The guides were good and tensioner seemed ok. Some pics of the chains and the blueing portion. Everything will be replaced when I do the FR500 cam swap. Hope that will get rid of everything in the end.
I hate the MC and booster.

All in all it wasn't that bad. Start to finish was 3 hours. Some of those dang bolts are in bad places though.

you may already know this but a different way I found to relieve the fuel pressure in the line is to unplug the inertia switch and start the car. not sure if this is even possible on your car but it would be less messy/dangerous than bleeding through the valve.
Good write up on pulling the covers....seems to be pretty straight forward. what made the other side more difficult?

The master cylinder mostly. There's no room in there to work.
I can't disconnect the inertia switch but I could have pulled the fuel pump fuse and do it that way. Same thing for the most part.

how's it been don? when i fly up to get my car we'll have to run them, do you know "madtracker22" from the mach site? he is one of my best friends down here that i've known for years, he's next on my "mach 1's i'm going to beat" list.... after you of course :stripes:

It's going just been busy. How's things with you?
I've seen him around but i don't think that we've actually talked. Let me know when your in town. I'll be doing cams, ported heads and intake sometime this summer. So you better catch me before that stuff goes in. Otherwise I'll just have to throw the 4.30's and take ya out that way.
