Pretty soon if things keep going this way even the Corvette will turn into a ricer!

4 bangers make great power for a weed eater not a car if I want to drive a 4 banger I will mow my lawn. And if fuel economy is so important the why does a Corvette get better MPG than a Civic?

True, and the Corvette IS a pretty heavy car. I'd much rather see it with a smaller V8 or even a V6 and weight of 2500lbs rather that 3300lbs. The LS9 has already proven that forced induction can replace displacement now that just needs to be applied to a smaller V8 or V6 with a turbocharger or blower.

I like small high rev V8's honestly. With direct injection, turbocharging, E85 fuel and eventually piezo-electronically controled valvetrain we can have economy and performance.

Why you gotta talk smack about dodge? They are making bigger and more.. GM are the dumbasses that kill the firebird before finding out how the camaro will do
(dodge ran out the charger and 300c and magnum... found out they sell well and put challenger into production)

Ok I see why you said that about the viper... but don't count out the viper just yet...

Dodge Viper / Chrysler Firepower

The new 2008 Viper is official. The next generation - with a new body - is due around 2010, if the 2008 model sells well. Chrysler is apparently reluctant to invest too much in the platform. The Firepower (a Hemi-powered, Viper-chassis Chrysler) or a different Viper-chassis vehicle is still possible for the 2009 or 2010 model year, maybe using a 392 Hemi engine. The Viper might also simply be dropped since it now loses money - and replaced by the Challenger. Or production might be outsourced to McLaren.
