tire size for weld prostars..??????

just got some weld prostars for the rear (what a deal, 100 bucks, centercaps included) and was wondering what size tire and brand to get (street legal dr) that is the same heighth as my current combo. currently running 275/45/17. weld prostars are 15/10 with 5 1/2 inch backspacing... would like to run at least a 315 or wider and not have fender rub issues.....
ideas and opinions are appreciated...

wrong backspacing for a 4th gen. should be 7 1/2" they will stick out about 2" from the fender lip. the 15 x 8's r 5 1/2" backspacing for a 4th gen.

the mickey thompson e/t street radials r kick a$$!!!!!!! helped a friend put a set of 15x10 prostars and 325/50/15's on his 94 z28. was quite the pia!! they are 28" tall and had to beat the crud out of the inner fender and use 5/16" spacers as well as grind the cooling fins off the calipers. but they hook and look awsome.

it looks like your tire height is 25.7" so you will have to run a 275/50r15 to stay same height. if you go 315 it will be 30" tall.

but i cant run drag radials on the street, i drive too much... can i look that badass on a street tire, like a 305/35/17??

my calibrated eyeball was off just a tad...the backspacing is 5 1/2, but they are 15x8's.....so looks like a set of MT ET drags are in my future, 275/50/15....thanks guys..
