Any have some spare cash. I am taking donations. I need a superchrged Vette.
The Corvette SS will be well out of the league of the Camaro and Mustang. They really aren't anywhere even close performance wise. Its more comparable to a Ferrari 430 or Porsche 911 Turbo - its faster than both by the way and a bargain even at close to $100,000 --

how is it out of the league with the camaro? For that kinda money i can make a camaro proabbly do anything but fly...
That's the point. Out of the box its a 600hp street bruiser as well as great track car. Yes, you can get similar performance numbers from a Camaro but it would be hard to build in all that balance while getting them. And it got a factory warranty - build a 200mph Camaro, not as easy as it might sound honestly...

How is that? my 87 Camaro does 150 Easy and I still had almost 2 full gears to go. But hey I have more fun with camaro then a snotty vette. And I can hall 4!!
Having 2 gears doesn't mean you can go much faster than the 150 you're already going. F=mass * velocity squared so to go faster you need exponentially more power. In other words the faster you go the harder it is to go just a little bit faster. That's why 200mph is such a big deal, its harder than it looks. BTW. I'm not "dis"ing the Camaro. The Corvette is just bad ass in my opinion from an engineering standpoint. I'd rather have a Viper honestly even though its slower :)

Don't forget that the last one is an O/D That's a tall gear to be pushing all that resistance.
Right Don. Almost NO cars actually can get to make RPM with a .50 overdrive. Basically when you shift to the higher gear the RPM's and horsepower drop off and so does your speed. The engine needs to be geared (just like a drag car) so that its terminal velocity/gearing/max hp are all at the same point and really that's not a great way to design a streetable car. So, the fact that a car actually can do 200mph says a lot since it likely is a byproduct of the design rather than a goal of it. Now if you're talking Bugatti Veyron numbers then its a whole different game. And eurotrash and high dollar or not, its one of those cars thats an arguement ender... :)
