last night two friends and i were riding, and thanks to my F**KED up sprocket, VORTEX SUCKS!!! anyway, thanks to that, i was riding sensibly, no speeding, no wheelies, nothing. my other two friends were riding like there was no tommorow, so after about 15 minutes of riding, they're were cops that pulled out all the way across our lane of traffic, WTF. i didn't get ****, my other two friends got wreckless driving tickets, which before court cost, just the civil fees are 1500, plus what the judge adds for the court cost and the fees, it's worth it to atleast try to get away, cops are outrageous....they're were around 9 cops and about 6 cop cars surrounding us at one time....WTF
Before we even left, can you say stalker?

Are you and your biker friends retarded?
Save that **** for the track.

What makes us retarded? i ride a motorcycle, so that makes me dumb and retarded? And save what for the track, honestly, i ride very conservative most of the times, i may speed a little bit, but other than that, i ride decently unless i'm out on back roads, and then i might practice a little bit, you guys are trying to tell me you've never street raced? or had fun on the interstate?

He has a point they were just doing stuff that bike guys do. one of the guys who got busted was one of my best friends and he said they were just doing silly tricks and stuff. Not my cup of tea but I know most of us on here have lined up at a light and hit it. about the same thing. just my 2 cents.

From what I gather, if your sprocket wasn't messed up, you would be riding like your friends, and riding like there's no tomorrow doesn't sound too conservative to me.
Riding a bike isn't retarded, doing wheelies and stunts on the street is retarded.

i could understand 100+ on the interstate doing wheelies, but come on, virginia beach blvd, around 9:30, 10:00 at night, not much traffic, and they weren't coming up but for around 50-100 yards....and not exceeding around 50-70, no harm done, you don't pay 10,000 dollars for a sportbike and then just ride it sensible, tell me this, if you have/had 383, nitrous, built ls1/lt1, turbo, cammed, headers, or stock for that matter, do you not feel the need to give it hell every once and a while....there's no rush like 0-60 and none of you guys can disagree, and if you say so, i'll call bull****....and yeah, i do wheelies, do you not speed? do you not race, do you not line it up at a light? if not, hey, i respect your ability to resist the urge, i do, but as for me, and i guess i'm young and stupid in your eyes because i seem to like to ride a sportbike for what it's designed for, what's your grudge against sportbikes? you act like your law abiding citizen of the year or something. seriously, sell your car and get a civic.

Hate to say this, but I agree. From the navy boys that have died this year doing wheelies, I have to say that you have to save the wheelies for the track. I remember that it wasn't so long ago that a twenty something navy boy caught a ride on an SUV's bumper. :slap:

When I was younger, I did a lot of stupid ****, like race down Northampton Blvd between the interstate and Diamond Springs doing 145mph at 1am in my Trans Am and 170mph in my friends Supra on 460 coming back from Windsor and coming up to a sweeping corner and seeing a red traffic light (it was a red turn arrow thankfully).
I don't do that now since I've seen what can happen if something goes wrong.

i'll end it here. i understand what your saying though, and yeah, it's insane at how many people die a year from doing the same dumb **** that i do, i realize that i'm not the best on a bike, and none of my friends are, but all in all, boys will be boys and it's mostly all harmless fun, one wheel, for a few hundred feet about 3 foot off the ground, **** can go wrong but it rarely ever does, unless it's some jackass who just started riding but as i said, **** happens and sometimes even the best riders go down...it's what bike guys do, and it's what car guys do. what's more dangerous? n a old lady in her 1980 lincoln doing 35 on the interstate or me on a bike doing 85 on the interstate? there's a lot worse **** out that that cops could be worrying about beside some guys that are out taking the minds off the day to day bull****? what about drugs, killing, rapist, murderers, no, it's all about the money...and the newly enforced fines show that, and due to that, the death toll is going to rise, because honestly, if i know i'm wrong, i'm not stopping, i refuse to fork over 1500 dollars for doing 15 over 55 on the ****ing interstate, i'll never stop again, call me stupid, call me what you will, but when you look at it, do you really want to fork over that kinda cash for doing something that's crossing a imagenary line, a speed limit.

$1500 vs $3000+ and jail time for evading and trying to elude the cops, or death if you crash???

And the chance of having the extra 1500 if you get away, and 100 in first gear, there's five gears after that,do the math, it's not that hard, sorry, i'm not stopping to politely hand over my hard earned cash, and let some cop jerk off to catching me, sorry.

I wouldn't try and run thats for **** sure. I had friend with a bad ass Integra that run from the cops and got away. The next day the knocked on his door with a picture of him in the car running from the cops... A helicopter had taken a pic of him through the sunroof as he sped away. Not so fun. I'd rather just take my lashings.

that's only if they can manage to get your tag number....and if your dumb enough to go home, but i get what your saying....i'd just have to take my chances....if you pull over, your fuked and you know it, if you run, there's always that chance you can get out of it...but as far my car goes, i'll take my lashings and go on about it, but on a bike, no way...

OK.
The guy last month thought he was getting away too. I think he's in the Beach Cemetary.
Half the stuff people do with there cars/motorcycles is just like playing craps. Sometimes you win but sometime the dealer does and you just gotta pay up.

Your not a VA. resident so you won't pay all the extra fines that just got approved a couple of months back anyway.

Probably I'm the only other serious rider here and I've got to say, when the blue lights come on stop and get the **** ticket. Most riders are NOT got enough to evade the police in a city environment. There are TOO many risks. That being said I've totalled a bike while doing tricks. I now own a couple bikes and ride a lot and usually go to Bike Week and also build customs. I don't trick now but I just like sprayin its hard NOT to ride fast occassionally. On the OTHER hand though, I NEVER speed in VA Beach near the beach, I'd NEVER do a wheelie in Myrtle Beach during bike week, and I always pull over for the cops. Unless you are really flying or stunting bikes usually get a break on speed. My last one 87 in a 55 was reduced to 64 in a 55.
I'd say the fact that Sprayin' didn't get a ticket might be dumb luck because he felt like the bike was out of shape for it. But it might also be a good lesson learned. When you're with a big group you attract attention. The cops are worried that the tricks and speed will keep increasing until someone crashes and a lot of the time they are right. Guys like to show of, we all know that, but doing it in a place like that is a big mistake and a lot of people will either get tickets or hurt. Pick one it should be the ticket I hope.
So, I'm hoping we'll get a chance to ride together soon. We all know you can have fun on a bike without being stupid (well - too stupid).

I must agree that running from the law is STUPID! You not only put your own life in jeopardy but anyone else on the road. I say nomatter what a ticket is better than dead. I am a rider and have been known to do stupid **** in the past. I hope you understand that everyone here are not trying to flame you but tell you somethings are just not worth doing. just my two cents.

ha ha...true jazz...really, i ride half descent most of the time, and the only time i show my ass is why i'm by myself. i don't like to do **** around other people, there are to many variables involved, other guys slams on brakes while i'm wheelieing, or someone lays it down while i'm haulin ass, i totally get that.....i know, i'm still young and dumb, and i know that....but atleast i'm not someone who drive's a van and has a ()

oh, i know there not flamin me, i'm **** good personal friends with most of them and i look up to them and appreciate there advice on the subject.....
Yeah, I was riding today with a friend on the back and I was thinking about this. People who don't ride don't understand that even riding in regular traffic on a clear day is so much more dangerous than being in a car you'd have to be a little crazy to ride a bike in the first place. What I'm saying is that only 5% of people ever ride and maybe 10% of those people ever do any extreme stunts or really excessive speed. Still, bike riders are thrill seekers and when you're 18 to 25 years old you haven't learned yet how fragile life really is. So, in a way I have to respect the cops for keeping things in check because without that a lot of young riders would never have the chance to become old riders. I hate getting tickets too, but I've always understood when I've gotten a ticket doing something stupid.

Here's what I think the problem is. thailand for example, bikes are how I get around all the time (ZX-6R last time). Even though there's way more traffic there, you just don't see the accidents that you see here.
The reason, there are less riders here so motorists aren't thinking as much about them as they do there. I'll ride a bike all day overseas but not here.
Sound about right?

I've got to wear the shiney braclets for NOT running.... I can only imagine what it will be like if I did. And thats in my truck, Its not exactly what I would call slow...
-My advice to you would be to not come on a public internet forum and advise people to run from the cops.... Dont expect people NOT to give you **** about saying those things... its not smart.
-Go ahead and do 150+ on 264 running from a trooper, dive of on whatever exit you think is good... you cant out run a Motorola buddy... bottom line.
Yeah, sometimes people check the mirror and still get over like it doesn't register that you are there. I always assume every car is about to hit me, doesn't see me, IS going to run the light and will roll thru the stop sign without noticing me. Keeps me alive (at least for now).

Sucks as a car driver too with Bikers around you..(speed bikes) cause no matter how much you look sometimes or what you think you can never really tell how fast a sport bike is going behind you really...I always stay in my lane while one is behind me and make sure to give plenty of brake room if there is one in front ...in VA Beach actually driving in my lane at a stoplight a bike decided to go up the middle to get up front and the girl on the back let her leg take off my side mirror..must have hurt pretty bad, dont really respect people who ride like idiots in traffic like that. Proceeded after hitting my car with a wheelie across the intersection "fun"

Oh and on the running thing.. Correct me if I am wrong but don't you have a unique paint job on your bike?
