Since I've ran everything else, I figured why not.

Vehilce:
2006 Chevrolet Silverado Z71 ECSB

Engine:
L33 5.3L HO Aluminum block rated 310hp and 335tq stock.

Transmission:
4L60-E with a Corvette 2nd Gear Servo and Sonax billet 4th gear servo.

Gears:
3.42, really sucks being this low on a truck with 265/70/17 tires. About as bad as the 2.73's in a F-body.

Mods:
K&N FIPK, Glassplack muffler from the Y back into split dual exit out the back, and a Diablo Predator Tuner.

This thing can't 60' to save its life, Torque Management and just 0 balls under 2500rpm. Even with the TM turned off with the Predator, nothing. This truck would seriously benefit from 4.10 gears and at least a 3000 stall.

Results:
Best run in 2WD
60': 2.48
330': 6.95
1/8: 10.59 @ 67.82mph
1/4: 16.28 @ 87.53mph
(down low, nothing. Starts flying up top)

Best run of the night, decided to run in 4WD Low, not good for it, but I figured why not. Maxed out all 4 Gears of the 4L60-E on the pass.
60': 2.34
330': 6.61
1/8: 10.12 @ 70.62mph
1/4: 15.67 @ 87.21mph

Gained some 60', but not what a converter and gears would do for this thing.

It was fun anyway.

Future mods:
-4.10 Gears
-Yank Truck 3000 stall
-Headers/Y-Pipe
-Magnacharger

(^^^Yeah, right. None of any of that will happen)

Oh, did beat a new body Durango on my 4WD Low pass. Guy was running 16.10's all day, and my best was the 16.28 up till that point. Bet he was mad when I came by him (he did get the tree on me).

Why do that when a 408 stroker would be more at home in the SS?

Ok, lets break this one down into an order. It all sounds good. If/When the SS gets a motor swap, the original LS1 is already destined for a new home. There is a certain Monterey Maroon Metallic Z28 that I have in mind, even then could build that up to a 383. I suppose the Torquer V2 would be an ok cam choice for a 383, but I think I'd need some new heads, could pull the trucks 799 heads which are essentially 243 heads, work them over and use those. Then I would now have a stockish LS1 that would need a home. Could tear that one down, go forged 347 with the truck stuff and drop it in the truck. The TEA 5.3L heads would do nicely, and maybe run a TR224 style cam in the truck. After all this, rebuild the trucks 5.3L L33, which is aluminum block BTW, buy say a nice G-Body or second Gen F-Body.

How much money you think all that would run?

Seems as if you are thinking about this!
