Thats cool. Jegs has a kit for $80.00, but I think it's kinda universal.

Yes I have the SJM LL on my car and it is very nice. I also did the ABS delete kit that SJM sells. All the kits come with prebent lines and everything, very simple to install. Makes doing the burnout at the track that much easier and its not hard on your rear brakes.

So I guess a line lock is great for burnouts, but not so much for the track. Why? Because you lose a millisecond hitting the button? What about a trans brake?

All a line lock does is lock the front brakes while releasing the rear. So using a LL wouldn't benifit anymore than using the foot brake, if anything it'll hurt more cause it will give the rear tires the ability to spin easier.
Trans brake is great for the track due to it basically engaging 1st and reverse at the same time, so there is no load too the wheels till its released, then it hits hard. It does put a lot of stress on a tranny and builds heat fast, so it best be a built tranny. Best bet not to have one on a 4L60E, 700R4, 200-4R or a TH350. Not saying it can't be done, but these ain't the stoutest trannies either. The 200 can be built to handle a bit more than the rest from my Turbo Buick experience, but it's still not a TH400 or even a 4L80E which would be the best trannies.
Line Lock is best for the burnouts for 2 reasons. 1. You don't tear up your rear brakes while doing burnout. 2. Your car doesn't roll down the track while trying to do said burnout.
Is it worth the appx $150 or so to get one? I think so.

You guys know Andy, he has the 67 Chevelle w/540 Shaffiroff motor in it. He was there friday night. He has a LL and swears by it @ the track. How do you install a trans brake? Is it external or internal? I've also heard the 200R4 is stronger than the 700R4.

You can use a line lock for the track, the switch process is faster than your foot and brake. If you load up too much though, you'll start spinning on the line, not a good thing. I put my LL on the SS, cause it makes doing a burnout on a stick and staying put a lot easier. It's a lot better than dropping the clutch then hurrying up and jamming on the brake pedal which isn't good for the rear brakes or the clutch.
As for the 200-4R, bone stock it's about the same as a 700, but I think it has slightly bigger things on the inside, so building makes it stronger off the bat.
A transbrake is internal to the tranny, and there are 2 types: -Electronic activation, which activates with a push of a button. -Manual T-Brake done through the valvebody. In the 200-4R in my T-Type had one initially, but I had it taken out. Basically to use it you'd put the gear selector into 1 and that would activate it, to come off it you upshift out of 1st. I had it removed on my T-Type cause a manual T-Brake on a Coloumb shift car makes coming off it dangerous, ie shifting strait into neutral. Honestly I have no idea how the electric one really works. You can load up on a T-Brake much higher than a LL due to no wheelspin. If you don't have stick tires with either, you're gonna blow the tires off either way.

Any brand Line Lock will be fine, it's the lines that are the harder part.

Why? You gonna come over and help me hook that bad boy up? I'll put that on the same day I install the air bags.

As for the why, most of us 4th gen F-Body guys get pre-bent lines which makes it easier to hook up and locate the unit. For wiring the unit, that part is pretty simple. 2 people does make the install easier.
