Hello evreyone long time no talk. Just wanted to let everyone kow that this weekend was the first auto-x event of the season for NASA. It is going to be held at VA Motorsports Park (VMP) on Sunday, May 24, 2009. I can't wait, last year was my first time on the track at Langley Speedway.
This year I hope to do much better, and not eat any cones. I also got a nice new camera to mount anywhere on the car, so hoping for some great video. Hope to see some of you out there.
Talk to you all later.

Thanks..... I hope to have a blast out there. I have also signed up for the next event out there which is on the 28th of June. And then the following, which is circuit-x, which will be held at VIR on the 26th of July. Hopefully you guys can make that one. The curcuit-x is supposed to be even better, no cones......
Oh, and I'm sorry I missed that last PM you sent me, I was so busy I completely forgot to check in.

No worries.
I'll be in Sand Diego by then but I should have some video of me from out there doing some runs throughout the summer.

Auto-x event was this past weekend, and I had a great time. I was off course on 2 out of 6 runs. Which wasn't bad considering the course was a difficult course. I ran in Heat 1, and I worked Heat 2. And while working Heat 2, I was calling a lot of cars off course as well. So I didn't feel too bad with my 2 off courses.
My friend and I also got there really early so we were able to sneak out on the 1/4 mile track. I did 1 run under a full load. That was with another set of wheels, luggage, receiver rack with cooler, and a passenger. At the end of the run I was at 95 mph. Didn't want to puch it anymore than that, one since I was fully loaded, and two we weren't supposed to out there. Enjoy, and let me know what you all think.
And here are a couple of pictures that I have, still waiting for more to show up.

Looks like it was a nice course. I would have like it that's for sure.
I was LMAO!! at you running down the closed strip. Not a bad MPH being fully loaded too.

Not bad at all
Yeah, great to see you're still at it. I'm still on the sidelines for a few more weeks (hopefully not much longer) since I don't think my Explorer would do well on the course. I'll be back with a vengeance by mid-season though.

Chris what happend to running the vette?
I'm definitely still gettting a Vette, but not until next summer. Working in the auto industry right now means not buying any big ticket items. I doubt I will autocross the Vette either and will be taking the Firebird to a nearly race only mode with a cage going in later this summer.

Sorry guys, been really busy. Started a new job, and I haven't been on my computer at all. I am so far behind in stuff it's not even funny.... LOL... But any how make sure to check out the event the NASA is planning at VIR in July actually at the end of July.
It is the circuit-x event, I have already signed up for the event. I have to take the class as well since I am a novice. But this is supposed to be so much better than auto-x, since there are no cones. You can actually reach some nice speeds. So if you can come on down for that.
I really can't wait for that, I think the Grand Prix will do much better out there than on those twisty little turns. Avoiding cones is not my thing, getting better, but SPEEDN is my thing :D..........

You are gonna love that stuff. My buddy is doing VIR on his bike in early July.
If they let you go full out, you can and should expect to hit about 140 on the straights.

The circuit X is on the Patriot course, not the full track. So if you hit 85 on the back section you'll be doing good. I did it in Jan, came in fourth behind a vette (Gil's) a porshe and a miata driven by a pro driver. I was on Hoosiers which helped a lot. It's great fun, also if you can squeeze in "Lunch laps" that will expose you to the big track. I hit 120 on the back stretch trying to "catch up" but I don't think they would be happy if they knew that. I got stuck behind a blazer for a couple of laps before she pulled off to let me pass.

I stand corrected. I thought it was the full course.
What they don't know won't hurt you.
