Ok, so the 79 has ac but the previous owner cut the lines for some added hp(who needs ac in pa), for which i was plannin to go to the local junkyard to get replacements.....but, my question is, what issues/stuff do ya need to convert from r-12 to r-134? i checked online everyplace just shows a couple of valves and new hoses (as a kit for 33 bucks @ autozone, etc) +r-134 (about 3 cans)....when this first hit the industry, it was a big deal, cost a lot of money, etc.....but why now is it so cheap?
any help in this area?

The conversion is about as quick and easy as you stated. But I would replace the dryer and orifice tube because the system is dry.
